Auf dem Weg zum Hotel musste mich Matthias mehrere Male beim \u00dcberqueren der Stra\u00dfe zur\u00fcckhalten, da ich als Kontinentaleurop\u00e4er nat\u00fcrlich auf die falsche Stra\u00dfenseite geguckt habe&#8230;ok, daran muss ich noch arbeiten \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2111 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_6-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_6-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_6-1-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_6-1-500x350.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nachdem wir unser Zimmer bezogen hatten, erkundeten wir die n\u00e4here Umgebung unseres Hotels und a\u00dfen bei wagamama, einer japanischen Restaurantkette, die es wohl nur auf der Insel gibt, ein sehr leckeres Donburi.<\/p>\n<h5>Der erste Tag: Erkunden der Stadt<\/h5>\n<p>Der n\u00e4chste Tag war ganz dem Sightseiing vorbehalten. Wir erkundeten nat\u00fcrlich die obligatorischen Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten wie das Edinburgh Castle, die Royal Mile in der Old Town sowie die New Town n\u00f6rdlich der Altstadt.Was f\u00fcr mich aber besonders hervorstach, waren zum einen die <a href=\"https:\/\/dovecotstudios.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Dovecot Studios<\/strong><\/a> und das <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nms.ac.uk\/national-museum-of-scotland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>National Museum of Scotland<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2102 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_9.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_9-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_9-500x350.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dovecoat Studios ist eine Kunstgalerie, die sich vor allem dem Textilen verschrieben hat und sich in einem ehemaligen Schwimmbad befindet . Es finden zum einen verschiedene Ausstellungen statt, zum anderen aber kann man als Besucher den K\u00fcnstlern, den Webern, beim Arbeiten zuschauen. Dort, wo vormals manch einer seine Bahnen zog, arbeiten nun die Weber inmitten von Webst\u00fchlen und Wolle, w\u00e4hrend die Besucher zwischen 12 und 15 Uhr auf der Galerie dabei sein k\u00f6nnen, wenn wundersch\u00f6ne Teppiche oder Wandbilder entstehen.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2101\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_8.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_8-290x290.jpg 290w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_8-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_8-120x120.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Das National Museum of Scotland ist ein wundersch\u00f6nes Museum, dass Naturwissenschaften, Technik, Kunst, Weltkulturen, (schottische) Kultur und Geschichte in einem Universalmuseum vereint. Es\u00a0 verfolgt dabei ein neues innovatives Ausstellungskonzept, dass die Museumsst\u00fccke nicht mehr Epochen oder Kulturkreisen zuordnet, sondern sie nebeneinander wirken l\u00e4sst. Das Nationalmuseum ist ein wunderbarer Ort um neue Einblick zu bekommen und selbst Kindern wird es hier nicht langweilig! Ein idealer Ort f\u00fcr verregnete Nachmittage und zudem kostenlos!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2096 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_3-300x210.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.linksgestrickt.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/EYF2018_3-500x350.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nat\u00fcrlich habe ich auch meine Augen f\u00fcr alles offengehalten, was irgendwie mit Wolle und Stoff zu tun hatte. Ich kam nur sehr schwer am Harris Tweed sowie an dem Laden walkerslater vorbei, der wundersch\u00f6ne Tweedjacken, -blazer und -westen in wundersch\u00f6nen Schnitten anbot. Der Kauf so einer Jacke ist schon eine Investition (die sich mit Sicherheit lohnt), aber da das Yarn Festival noch vor mir lag und wir zudem nur mit Handgep\u00e4ck reisten, verlie\u00df ich den Laden mit leeren H\u00e4nden.
